I feel like this post requires lot’s of pretty pictures so don’t be alarmed. It’s safe to say I was quite excited when this beauty landed on my doorstep. I’ve always had a love hate relationship with beauty boxes, I got about 6 Glossyboxes but only two were really worth it. When I found out about this Birchbox x Harper’s Bazaar box I was incredibly excited, especially when I saw some spoilers of what there might be in the box. What got me ever more excited was that If I subscribed I would also get the Benefit Hoola bronzer.. So yeah. It happened.
As I’ve seen so many people do their Birchbox unboxing videos I had a pretty good idea of what the box was like in terms of packaging. I love the little drawstring bag it comes in, not that I know what I’ll use it for, but it’s cute all the same! The entire package is more compact compared to some of the other boxes I’ve seen which is always better, It’s annoying getting a massive box that just ends up being stuffed with shredded tissue..
First up is the Beauty Protector Protect shampoo and conditioner. I can’t say I normally care for hair products but I thought this cute combo would be great to take away with me for holiday. I have to say I like the packaging but I can’t say much about the brand or what it’s like till I use it. They retail at £14 each and obviously this is only sample but at that price I expect it to be pretty amazing.
Next up was something I couldn’t wait for. The Liz Earle Cleanse and polish was the first ever cleanser I bought and I fell in love with it. As times have changed I now have a unhealthy obsession with cleansers and although I no longer use the C&P it’s not to say it will ever stop being a favourite of mine. This 30ml size is great as you get quite a few uses out of it and of course it comes with a muslin cloth. Can you guess where this is going? (I’ll give you a hint.. the same place as the shampoo & conditioner)
Next up was the They’re Real! mascara by Benefit. I think this is my 5th mini mascara and I’m not going to complain to be honest. This mini lasts a decent time and seeing as I like the mascara I’m pretty happy! I think people have a real love hate relationship with this mascara and at £18 for a full size I think there is a lot of drugstore mascaras that give this a run for it’s money. But like I said, it’s great to have another mini, because well, everything is cuter when it’s a mini.
Okay, let’s all take a minute to just appreciate this packaging…
Seriously, have you ever had a nail polish come in a stunning black and white box with foam inserts? Cause I certainly haven’t and I buy a lot of nail polish. This gorgeous colour called ‘Pomegranate’ is from Soigne a brand I’ve never heard of but I know they’re launching online very soon so keep a look out for that. I’m yet to try this but Jigna was wearing this last week (click here to see her post!) It’s just so gorgeous looking. Just the experience of taking the nail polish out of the box was such a pleasure. I’m going to be trying this very soon so I’ll keep you guys posted.
Last was this Aromatherapy Associates revive morning bath & shower oil. Having tried a few mini samples from the brand I don’t know an awful a lot about them but I do know this bath oil has a lot of reviews and I can’t wait to pamper myself. Again I think the bottle is cute just because it’s tiny (surely other people find mini samples cute, right?) I know for a fact I’ll enjoy this and it’s certainly a brand I want to find out more about..
And here is my Benefit Hoola bronzer, I had been thinking about purchasing this on and off for a really long time but I always talked myself out of it, so it’s safe to say I am very excited to get my hands on this! Thanks to Birchbox for making the first month of my subscription amazing. Bring on next month!
