Wedding Diary #15 The Update

I thought it would be a good time to just do a quick post about how the wedding plans are going. It’s been quiet on the blog in terms of any wedding related stuff but it has come to the point where there is lot’s of planning, but nothing to show for it!

The Outfit : As you all know my outfit is all ready and waiting. My only concern was the underlayer of the skirt as it is made of this rigid net which needs to soften to make the shaping better. I’ve been assured by the people at Frontier Phagwara that it will soften by the time of the wedding, but I still need to check on it. Problem is, my outfit is folded and put in a suitcase under my bed. Which I can only get out by lifting my bed. Boo.

The Makeup : I had my makeup trial back in last August, and I’m not actually going to go for another trial. I was happy with the way my makeup artist applied all the makeup and although I didn’t have my outfit at the time I have enough faith in her to do an amazing job on the day. Obviously I know what kind of look I’m going for so don’t worry I do have a plan!

The Reception : Everything for the reception is coming together now. I had a visit to the events company who is doing the decor and we finalised the colour scheme and mocked up a center piece design too which was quite exciting. I’m glad I’ve got that sorted as I really wanted to make sure these details are perfect. We’ve gone for a pink, cream and white theme. Which to be honest I wasn’t sure I would go for originally but I’m actually really starting to like the ideas we’ve got so far. I’ve also finalised the wedding cake design which is obviously pretty exciting. As it stands it’s going to be 4 tiers, with iced flowers separating the different layers.

The Invitations : As a graphic designer I knew the most exciting thing I would ever design is my own wedding invitations. Might be crazy but I just couldn’t wait to design them. I had no idea what I originally wanted and it’s been hard when you’re the client. In the end I opted for a laser cut design (which has been more difficult than I thought) but I can’t wait to see them. They should be arriving early next week so I can’t wait to share them with you guys.

So yeah, that’s how things are looking. I have a huge list of things that I still need to do but with 64 days to go, it’s safe to say I am seriously stressing out! I just need to remain as calm as possible… (Not happening!)
