I’ve had my eyes on some NYX products for a really long time. I’ve heard such good things about their blushes and I love trying stuff from brands that are affordable. The first thing I really wanted to try was the jumbo pencil, I don’t think there is a blogger out there who hasn’t mentioned this or used this at some point in their life. It’s pretty much a cult product from NYX so I knew I had to give it a go. Priced at £5 I don’t think you can go wrong with this. I wanted to get this to use as a base for my eye lids and to use as a brightener/highlighter. I find that white is too harsh for the water line so I don’t think I’ll be using it for that. I tried this out the other day when I was having a go at a cut crease look – I used this as a base and blended it out so it wasn’t too harsh then went in with the black from the Urban Decay palette above my crease. It was quite a dramatic look but worked really well. I also think the pencil would be great for under the brow, as long as it is blended properly! Overall I’m loving this, and I’m quite tempted to pick up some more.
The product I was most excited about was this blush in the shade ‘Dusty Rose’ it reminded me a lot of my Illamasqua blush in the shade ‘Beg’ Having heard so many good things about the NYX blushes, I wasn’t disappointed when I swatched it. I couldn’t believe how pigmented the blush was, but more so how easily it blends into the skin. I found that this colour really suits my skin too and I love how natural it looks on the skin. I find with many blushes they can look quite obvious and then seem very harsh, whereas this looked so natural. I’ve been using it pretty much every day since I got it that I’m actually looking to get some more. I might try a darker shade for contour. I’m certainly converted to NYX products now and at £6 a blush I think that’s really good value. I also love the cute packaging too! Have you tried any NYX blushes?
