Muji Storage

So it finally happened. I caved and invested in some Muji storage. I can now join the other 10000 beauty bloggers and fanatics. I always wondered whether Muji storage was in fact just overly hyped.. Clearly not. I can happily say that investing in the Muji 5 Drawer has actually helped me so much, my dressing table has never been this tidy, I’ve been using products I’d forgotten about and getting ready for work in the mornings is so much easier now. At first I thought it looked a little bit too small but once I got everything in I realised it is just about the perfect size. It’s sturdy, easy to open and most of all it looks good. No matter how you store your makeup in it, it never looks messy!

So the first drawer holds the products I’m most likely to reach for on a morning. (My foundation obviously doesn’t fit so I’m having to keep that on top!) I was going to split the drawer into eyes, lips, face and so on but I thought it made more sense to store everything in order of what I use the most really. I’m surprised at how much you can fit in each one, and although I thought the drawers would be deeper, it’s actually better than I thought in terms of what you can store.

The second drawer is a mix products I’m likely to reach for but maybe not as much. I love how easy is to see everything which makes it so much easier, rather than having to look through all my makeup to find what I’m looking for.

Oh yes, this is my favourite drawer. I’m amazed at how much I can fit in here, and although for the long term I’m going to invest in a lipstick holder, for now I think this works really well. FYI I don’t steal Rimmel testers I got them for work in a charity makeup sale! The main aim is to fill this drawer with Revlon Matte/Laquer balm stains. Oh heaven.

Drawer number 4 is pretty much dedicated to eyes, and during the week this drawer really does get neglected. It’s reserved more for weekends when I actually give myself time to get ready! I like that you can stack two MUA palettes, so if you have a lot of palettes you can easily store them. I’m most excited about having somewhere to put my cream eyeshadows as they were causing me the most problem before and now finally instead of having them just sitting on dressing table they finally fit. I’m wondering whether it’s worth getting some kind of dividers but I’m not sure it’s worth it yet.

I also keep my contact lenses for the week in there. A bit of a mess I know but I actually think it still looks pretty organised which is why I love the Muji storage so much. No matter how you put your stuff in there, it still looks good. I know for a fact I’m going to invest in some more storage but I think I might wait a bit.. might buy some more makeup first.
