With January finally being over and everyone feeling a little more cheerful, I find that February is the month when I get my motivation back and with so much going on this month including Valentines Day I thought I would share some of my favourite makeup items that would no doubt help create a a striking Valentines look. I know a lot of people are going for the more romantic look using more rose gold tones (The UD Naked 3 seems to feature in nearly all the valentines posts I’ve seen!) but for me it’s all about a bold lip and a subtle eye look with classic black liner.. So here are some of my favourite products to help you create your perfect Valentines makeup.

The Matte Balms by Revlon are amazing, and everyone loves a matte lip. My favourite colour is ‘Striking’ it is a really gorgeous red with a slightly orange undertone but nothing too harsh. The balm goes on really smooth to your lips and the colour pay off means you don’t need to apply too much! The colour slowly stains the lips and you’re left with a matte lip that still feels moisturised and the best part is that the product doesn’t cling to any dry areas. It has amazing staying power and is perfect through lunch or dinner.

Illamasqua Lipstick – Sangers
One of my all time favourite lipsticks has to be this one by Illamasqua. Not only do I adore Illamasqua packaging but this colour has to my perfect red. Described as being a blood red with a matte finish there isn’t a red lipstick that I love more. I’ve worn this lipstick without lip liner on several occasions and it hasn’t ever bled which I find incredible. You can however enhance the staying power and colour pay off by applying a red lip liner all over your lips first. Despite being described as a matte finish I still find the lipstick to be quite moisturising on the lips and it doesn’t dry out or cling to any dry areas. If you’re looking for a bold lip then it has to be this.

My perfect eye look usually starts with the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, I can’t get enough of them. They provide an incredible base for any eye look whether you use them alone or as a base for other eyeshadows. One of my favourite combinations is using the colour tattoo is bronze and then using the e.l.f cream eyeliner to line my lash line. I’ve been a fan of liquid liners for a really long time but I have to say I have converted to gel eyeliners. I tend to use the Real Techniques eyeliner brush and I find that that using a gel liner creates a much more softer look and you have more control over whether you want a think subtle lined look or whether you want to make more of a statement. I also find that the this gel liner has a really nice matte finish rather than the wet glossy look you end of getting from most liquid liners.
