Too many neutral palettes?

Like most people out there I can’t resist a decent neutral eyeshadow palette. I don’t often create daring looks on my eyes, I’d probably go as far as a smokey eye but apart from that I can’t beat a nice subtle neutral eye.. and considering the number of the palettes I have, it’s not hard.

Trio £15

I got this duo in one of the Glossy Boxes and I was pretty excited when I saw it. It seemed like the perfect little palette to have whilst traveling or on the go. I have to say I love the darker shade, it is incredibly pigmented but the lighter shade is full of large bits of glitter.. which doesn’t blend very well. I tend to only use the lighter shade if I’m going out and tend to pat the shadow on, as you can’t blend it at all. I like the idea of the duo but I find it hard to work with. It’s great if you love a bit more sparkle but if you like the more subtle look, then this isn’t for you. You can pick up the trio version of the palette for £15 – I personally don’t think it’s worth it and I wouldn’t purchase this, but it’s been a great duo to try out.

I love this mini palette from Revlon, it has 5 completely different shades that work really well together, again like the Models Co duo these shades also have a bit of shimmer in them, but they’re much easier to blend. They are quite pigmented and for the price, it’s a great high street purchase. The only colour that I don’t really use is the white one, it’s described as a highlight colour, but it’s just too harsh. The other shades however are great, I love the gold shade, especially as I don’t have anything else like it. On the whole I think it’s a great palette to have, especially if you’re looking for something to start with, the black is great to line your eyes with and for the price, you get a really versatile palette that you can create a lot of great looks with.

Being the cheapest palettes I own, at £4 each these are such a bargain with 12 shades they’re great value for money. The shadows are so pigmented and the colours blend together so well. I know the Undress me too palette is supposed a dupe for the Urban Decay naked 2 palette so if you’re looking for a high street equivalent then this is it. I love the range of shades as there is a real mix of colours to suit every skin tone. Out of the two palettes I have to say I prefer the Undress me too. It’s the palette I always reach for on days when I know I want to create something different. These are worth adding to collection if you haven’t already.
