For the past 4 weeks I’ve been working full time which means my makeup routine has changed quite a lot. I’ve mentioned before that I love applying makeup, because really there is something quite satisfying about it. Considering I usually have been between 10-15 minutes to get dressed and do my makeup, I really have taken it to the bare essentials.. It may come as a surprise but I no longer wear foundation on a weekday morning when I’m going to work. The studio I’m in is insanely warm.. and to be honest there is nothing worse that having all your makeup sweat off your face, so for now my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation has taken a back seat.
I start off by applying my E45 moisturiser and let that settle into my skin a bit followed by the Benefit Porefessional primer, applying it only to the areas on my face where I need it most. For me the main objective is covering up the dark circles under my eyes and any other minor scars or blemishes, for this I tend to use my much loved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and sometimes I mix it up and use the Benefit Boi-ing Concealer, both of which work equally well. The lasting perfection concealer being slightly easier to blend as it’s quite creamy, I usually buff it in with my Real Techniques Contour brush. Whilst my concealer is settling in I comb through my brows and fill them in with my black powder from Natural Collection and set them with the clear mascara. As mentioned in my previous post my most used mascara is the Loreal False Lash Telescopic, it honestly is the best mascara I’ve used and it stays put all day. Finally I set my concealer with powder. I usually start of under my eyes and then swirl it around the rest of my face focusing on the areas where I tend to get oily. I’m coming to the end of my Benefit Hello Flawless powder so I opted to repurchase the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.. it’s okay but the Hello Flawless is powder is so finely milled it gives a much more flawless look.
And that is my updated makeup routine, I really have stripped it back, of course there are days when I had a hint of blush or liquid liner, but most days I keep it pretty simple. I really need a powder that stops my skin getting oily and overly shiny.. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
