The whole I’m not going to spend any money on beauty products in February has so far been a failure.. As all I had to do was go into Superdrug pick up a moisturiser, pay for it and leave. But that was never going to happen. I ended up picking up a few other products which I probably shouldn’t have but just couldn’t resist.
I’ve been pretty obsessed with masks lately and these superdrug ones cost 99p and it was 4 for 3.. Bargain. I was tempted to pick up just 4 of the hydrating ones but thought it would be nice to give the others a go too..
I can’t rave about this moisturiser enough – for £4.99 it is one of the best products I have ever used and if I’m honest it does a better job then the La-roche posay effaclar range (Which yes I do love.. but it does have a tendency to dry out my skin if I use it too often!) It is incredibly soothing on my skin unlike some other products which make my skin sting or feel uncomfortable.. this just gives enough moisturiser and also keeps blemishes at bay. Love it.
Having picked up the rimmel scanadaleyes khol kajal liner in nude I had been tempted to pick up a few more colours.. I wish I had picked up the purple one too but will just have to wait till next month (ha.) I ended up getting the bright blue and taupe one. I love the nude one but I think sometimes it’s too bright in my waterline (great for if I’m going out) but I thought taupe would do a better job at brightening up my eyes. I kind of picked up the blue one on a whim and tried it out in my waterline, it isn’t as bright as I anticipated but it still looks great and I think I might try out a winged eyeliner look with it. At £3.99 I really don’t think you can go wrong. They are so creamy and they don’t drag on the eyes which is amazing and they colour payoff is pretty good too.
I think my revlon just bitten kissable balm stain obsession is getting out of hand.. I already had two and decided to pick up ‘Honey’ as well. So many people rave about this colour and I always thought it might be too pink, but the colour is quite sheer and you can build it up, but for me it is the kind of your lips but better colour. And I think because it is sheer it probably looks different on everyone. Since I got this I’ve been wearing it everyday and I love it. It gives just the right amount of colour and it stays on all day without drying your lips out. And of course I love the minty smell..
Cue shockingly bad swatches (I will have better swatches when I come to review these products individually!)
Finally the time came to purchase another Gelly nail paint from Barry M. Every time I’m going to pick up a new colour I honesty spend ages just stood there staring at all the different colours, wanting them all of course. In the end I went for this neon pink shade called ‘Grapefruit’ I thought it would be perfect for summer and as I know the formula is great I cant wait to try it out.
Creepy picture of my eye.. I ended up wearing this in my waterline all day and it didn’t even budge which I thought was great. As I mentioned I thought the colour would be brighter but I think wearing on my lash line might produce a more vibrant shade.
So yeah thats the few bits I picked up from Superdrug and honestly I don’t need to purchase any more products this month (I say this but I know what I’m like..) I’ve got my eyes on the Rimmel apocalips lip laqcuers but I think I might wait a while. Who knows.
